Question about dentists Juambeltz/Radesca in PF

Our little man just turned 3 and we want to take him to the dentist for the first time. Called Dr. Juambeltz/Dr. Radesca in PF and their first available appointment is end of August. No big deal because he's not in any pain or anything.

My main concern is how quickly they normally get a patient in if they're in pain? The receptionist assured me they'd be able to squeeze him in quickly if he's in any pain. For all of you who take your kids to them....is that the case or do you find they can't get them in soon when needed? I've heard great things about them but nobody I've talked to has had issues with their kids' teeth yet. TIA!

They just told me my daughter has a cavity and can't fix it for 4 months. She's not in pain but it's definitely hard to get a quick appointment.

My girls used to go to Jaumbeltz and loved him. If I recall correctly, they did fit one of the girls in for an emergency-type situation once.

Juambeltz is a very sweet man. He would encourage the girls while in the chair by telling them, "You're a big toy winner!" However, with his accent it sounded like, "You're a big toy weiner!" It was all I could do not to laugh everytime I heard it.

My boys went to Radesca when they were young. Both are EXCELLENT pediatric dentists. As a result none of my children were ever afraid of the dentist chair.

If you are a New Patient, and there is no Emergency, it will be awhile before you get in. Once your in, and an emergency should arise, you WILL get in, in a timely fashion. I don't know anything about Dr Radeska, but Dr Juambeltz is the best there is. Another good Pediadontist is Dr. Susan Noble, who is located in Prince Frederick.

My kids have gone there for years. I absolutely love both of the dentists there. As far as emergency visits are concerned, my best friend just started taking her daughter to a new dentist because Juambeltz and Rodesca couldn't get her in for an emergency visit and her daughter was in a lot of pain.

If you are looking for a dentist that will make your kids feel comfortable then I would definitely go to them. If you are looking for flexibility, I would choose another pediatric dentist.

Thanks for all the input, everyone. Just trying to figure out what's best for my little guy. I know all too well how painful dental issues can be and I'd be beyond aggitated if he was in tremendous pain and had to wait an unreasonable amount of time to get it taken care of. Not saying I expect to call and have them ready to see him that minute. At the same time, it sure would be nice to not have him absolutely hate going to the dentist and it sounds like this would be a great place in that regard. I guess I just want it all!

Another option - get referrals for a good family dentist who is great with kids.
