Question about real estate closing costs

The last time I bought a house was in 1974. Yes, I have been in the same house that long. I added on with no need to relocate.

Now that I am retired and leaving the Peoples Socialist Democratic Republic of Maryland, I need an update on home purchase processes.

Just what are closing costs? Anything else would help?

I envy you for being able to leave this god forsaken, government control place. Born and raised here, I love the area, people, the water and the beauty but I too am hauling ass in about 10-12 years.

Closing costs consist of:

Loan origination fee
title search
projected taxes
appraisal

I'm sure there are other things but not many. Some other folks can add to the list.

Over all unless you ask the seller to split them (I sure would) expect about $10k.
