I just don't understand, because me (as a southern traditionalist and social libertarian) and you have a lot in common.

I just got to know, why do we vote totally different?

don't forget the idea that they could be from any other number of places, including jamaica for a prime example...thus no longer making them "african"-americans. just a thought

I think Demo-rats get more votes from poor non working folks (not only blacks) because they promise to fund more social service programs so that the no loads can suck the system on the working persons dime. And since they are already receiving government assistance, tax hikes don't really affect them.

Last, if you want to win, you need votes so the demo-rats target inner cities more for the majority vote. Almost all of MD voted blue the last election with the exception of Baltimore County and PG county, go figure...

If you get rid of the sound and just listen to the lyrics, country and rap (OK, so I'm not talking about JayZ, fittycent, etc, etc.) would fit into the same genre.

My dad is black and I am about as conservative as they come; he's pretty damn conservative too.

I can appreciate your question about voting Democrat. But nearly half the white population votes Democrat and a lot of them like NASCAR, country music, etc. Maybe the question should be posed both ways. I enjoy all those things, am a white woman, and vote Republican. But some of my closest friends who have the same values and beliefs as me vote Democrat.

I can appreciate your question about voting Democrat. But nearly half the white population votes Democrat and a lot of them like NASCAR, country music, etc. Maybe the question should be posed both ways. I enjoy all those things, am a white woman, and vote Republican. But some of my closest friends who have the same values and beliefs as me vote Democrat.
