Question of the Day

Unbelievable

Spay and Neuter Your Pets
Okay, this may be a silly question and I'm ready for the all the smartA$$$ remarks I'll probably get, but is there any way to tell if a dog has been spayed? I have two fosters, one male and one female who have been together since forever. The male I can tell has been neutered, although it was quite a delicate procedure, I must say. Anybody out there got any ideas? The dogs were strays and subsequent owner surrenders and I cannot contact the previous owner. Thanks. :flowers:

 My spayed beagle had a small scar on her belly for awhile after the surgery...I haven't looked recently though so I'm not sure it hasn't faded. Maybe check her belly area. Good Luck!

Thanks, I tried that but can't seem to find anything. I'm going to have them both clipped soon so maybe it will be more evident then. :howdy: She's very large and three years old, so it may be more difficult to find.

shave down the belly and you might be able to see it better. take her to a vet and ask them if they can tell.

This may sound gross, but, check her genitalia. If she has been spayed it tends to shrink significantly. It usually gets so small that you can barely even see it. If she hasn't been spayed then her genital area is more prominant. Hope this helps! :howdy:
