If you are not familiar with question-type threads, this test thread will demonstrate how they can be used:
In a nutshell, any registered user can up/down vote any of the responses to the question (the first post in the thread). The Original Poster (OP) can then select the post that best answers their questions. It is really designed for someone to seek the best answer to a legitimate question. However, I'm sure that people will think of other creative uses.
Please note that once you choose a thread type and post the thread, you can not change it at a later time.
