Quran 10:41. If they accuse you of lying, say, “I have my deeds, and you have your deeds. You are quit of what I do, and I am quit of what you do.”
42. And among them are those who listen to you. But can you make the deaf hear, even though they do not understand?
43. And among them are those who look at you. But can you guide the blind, even though they do not see?
44. God does not wrong the people in the least, but the people wrong their own selves.
45. On the Day when He rounds them up—as if they had tarried only one hour of a day—they will recognize one another. Those who denied the meeting with God will be the losers. They were not guided.
46. Whether We show you some of what We promise them, or take you, to Us is their return. God is witness to everything they do.
47. Every community has a messenger. When their messenger has come, judgment will be passed between them with fairness, and they will not be wronged.
48. And they say, “When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?”
Here's the commentary.
They will either recognize each other as they were in the world, or some of them will recognize the others who remained in disbelief and error.
The significance of the words “to Us is their return” is that those who are warned will be dealt with by Allåh as they deserve, and the warning will prove true. In the first part of the verse they are told that it is no concern of theirs whether the Prophet lives to punish them with his own hands or that punishment is executed by Allåh in some other way. The verse, therefore, only lays stress on their approaching doom.
“And there is not a people but a warner has gone among them”. Humanity will always be under the deepest obligation to the Prophet for this broad humanitarian principle.
The warning that their doom must overtake the opponents is reasserted in these words. By “between them” must be understood the Messenger and those who charge him with falsehood; the issue is between the preacher and the rejectors.
Jonah was one of those doomsday preachers. He was told by God [Allah] to go warn the people of Nineveh. Jonah didn't want the job. He knew it would make them angry if he called them out. Nothing makes the average drunk angrier than calling him a drunk. Nothing makes the average whore angrier than being called a whore. Nineveh was full of drunks, whores, idol worshippers, and polygamists.
Jonah must have been a great orator. They listened to him.... no I mean... they really listened to him. They saw the error of their ways and they started back down the right path. Jonah didn't want to be the good preacher at the good church. He was afraid. He didn't think things would go like that. He thought he would open his mouth and they would shut it for him.
People need to be taught. When a baby first sees the sun..... they don't know we are all revolving around it on another hunk of wonder created by God. When a child first sees a book.... they don't know what it is or what the scribbles say. They have to learn. They have to be taught.
There's a lot of talk about bad preachers, priests, and rabbis. It's in the Torah. It's in the Bible. It's in the Quran. The ones that do the good work. The ones who don't lie or cheat or lay down with the parishioners..... aren't talked about. The ones who are busy teaching the truth to those who don't want to listen but hear it anyway and turn on their path... hardly make the national news.
When a preacher can get the truth to someone who does not want to hear it..... or does not want to see it..... or does not want to believe it..... then that preacher has done a good job that only God [Allah] can really appreciate.
God said to Jonah..... "you do your job and let me handle the rest." Jonah, it turns out, was a great preacher for Nineveh.
Now.... according to Quran 10:47.... every community has one.
