Quran 14:35. Recall that Abraham said, “O my Lord, make this land peaceful, and keep me and my sons from worshiping idols.”
36. “My Lord, they have led many people astray. Whoever follows me belongs with me; and whoever disobeys me—You are Forgiving and Merciful.
37. “Our Lord, I have settled some of my offspring in a valley of no vegetation, by Your Sacred House, our Lord, so that they may perform the prayers. So make the hearts of some people incline towards them, and provide them with fruits, that they may be thankful.”
38. “Our Lord, You know what we conceal and what we reveal. And nothing is hidden from God, on earth or in the heaven.
39. “Praise be to God, Who has given me, in my old age, Ishmael and Isaac. My Lord is the Hearer of Prayers.”
40. “My Lord, make me one who performs the prayer, and from my offspring. Our Lord, accept my supplication.”
41. “Our Lord, forgive me, and my parents, and the believers, on the Day the Reckoning takes place.”
42. Do not ever think that God is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only defers them until a Day when the sights stare.
43. Their necks outstretched, their heads upraised, their gaze unblinking, their hearts void.
44. And warn mankind of the Day when the punishment will come upon them, and the wicked will say, “Our Lord, defer us for a little while, and we will answer Your call and follow the messengers.” Did you not swear before that there will be no passing away for you?
45. And you inhabited the homes of those who wronged themselves, and it became clear to you how We dealt with them, and We cited for you the examples.
46. They planned their plans, but their plans are known to God, even if their plans can eliminate mountains.
47. Do not ever think that God will break His promise to His messengers. God is Strong, Able to Avenge.
48. On the Day when the earth is changed into another earth, and the heavens, and they will emerge before God, the One, the Irresistible.
49. On that Day, you will see the sinners bound together in chains.
50. Their garments made of tar, and the Fire covering their faces.
51. That God may repay each soul according to what it has earned. God is Quick in reckoning.
52. This is a proclamation for mankind, that they may be warned thereby, and know that He is One God, and that people of understanding may remember.

This is the commentary.

That idolatry received a death-blow from the hands of one of Abraham’s descendants shows that Abraham’s prayer was not in vain. In fact, if idolatry is being swept off from the face of the earth, it is due only to Abraham and his descendants.
Idols do not actually lead men astray, but as it is on account of them that people go astray, they are described as causing men to go astray.
The prayer of Abraham is in fact the prayer of the Holy Prophet and illustrates the breadth of his view. Those who follow him are, of course, his own, but he does not reject even those who disobey him, for he prays for Allåh’s mercy and protection even for them.
According to the Holy Qur’ån, Abraham brought Ishmael (and his mother) to Arabia and settled them there. The story of the casting forth of Hagar and Ishmael in the wilderness of Beer-sheba is thus not accepted. There are some details given in a ƒadßth by Ibn ‘Abbas. According to this ƒadßth, Abraham brought Hagar and Ishmael, and settled them near the ruins of the Sacred House, the Ka‘bah. This, as the ƒadßth states, was done under a Divine commandment. For when Abraham was going back, on leaving them both in this wilderness, where there was no town at this time, Hagar asked him, Is it by Allåh’s commandment that thou art doing this? Abraham’s reply was, Yes. Then said Hagar: “Allåh will not leave us to perish”. It is further stated that, when no water was left with her, Hagar ran to and fro, between the ˝afå and the Marwah, to find out if there was any caravan going that way. It was on this occasion that she saw an angel, who pointed to her a place where she could find water. This was the place known now as Zamzam. It was due to this water that some people settled there. Even the Bible accepts that Ishmael’s descendants settled in Arabia.
The expression indicates a state of intense terror, in which one is unable even to wink the eye.
The striking terror into the hearts of those who opposed the Prophet was witnessed in this very life, when the Prophet advanced on Makkah. The vacancy or blankness of the heart indicates a state of great terror.

The reference is to the plan of the Quraish to put an end to the Prophet’s life, when he was left almost alone in Makkah.
The words their plan is with Allåh signify that their plan is controlled by Allåh, Who will make it ineffective. A wonderful prophecy indeed in the mouth of a person whose only chance of saving himself now lay in escaping from his enemies, while they were taking every precaution not to allow him to escape, having decided to put him to death!
The transformation wrought by the Holy Prophet no doubt changed the earth into a different earth and the heaven into a new heaven. The Arabia at the birth of the Prophet was not the Arabia at his death. Beliefs, usages, and practices, which had baffled all attempts at reformation for centuries, were swept away, and the ignorant, superstitious, and warring tribes had become a single nation, holding aloft the torch of knowledge and civilization to the whole world. Idolatry was blotted out of existence so completely that no vestige of it could be found among a people who had remained addicted to it for centuries. And that great change must now come over the whole world. But the spiritual resurrection is only an indication of the great day of Resurrection.
The powerful opponents of the Prophet were brought before him linked together in chains in this very life, at the battle of Badr. These promises were fulfilled in this life to show that they were equally true as regards the next.

I know, I know... it's a lot to read and take in.... my biggest take was ZamZam!

The Quran and the Bible are so similar.... it just amazes me that no one has considered advertising that we are more alike! The Bible says Abraham ran Hagar and Ishmael into the wilderness. The Quran says Abraham took them to an unsettled area and left them there. They are so similar. With so many people talking about how they are so different.... no one is getting the real story.

The Real Story of ZamZam is not that Abraham left Hagar and Ishmael there to settle.... it's that God gave Hagar protection. God helped Hagar when she was left, a mistress with a bastard son.... because God said He would.

Being left homeless and penniless with babies is a rough row to hoe... I know... I've been there with three children. Having God step in to make life bearable.... well that's just miraculous and we never forget. I know.

So everyone always wants the story to be backed by some miraculous sign. Here's the sign.... in the land where God had Abraham stash Hagar and Ishmael... idolatry is wiped out! No one is worshipping little shiny objects.... food and water are supplied by God and they know it.

Yep.... I like this story of ZamZam!
