Quran 17:42. Say, “If there were other gods with Him, as they say, they would have sought a way to the Lord of the Throne.”
43. Be He glorified. He is exalted, far above what they say.
44. Praising Him are the seven heavens, and the earth, and everyone in them. There is not a thing that does not glorify Him with praise, but you do not understand their praises. He is indeed Forbearing and Forgiving.
45. When you read the Quran, We place between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter an invisible barrier.
46. And We drape veils over their hearts, preventing them from understanding it, and heaviness in their ears. And when you mention your Lord alone in the Quran, they turn their backs in aversion.
47. We know well what they listen to, when they listen to you, as they conspire, when the wrongdoers say, “You only follow a man bewitched.”
48. Note what they compared you to. They are lost, and unable to find a way.
49. And they say, “When we have become bones and fragments, shall we really be resurrected as a new creation?”
50. Say, “Even if you become rocks or iron.
51. Or some substance, which, in your minds, is even harder.” Then they will say, “Who will restore us?” Say, “The One who originated you the first time.” Then they will nod their heads at you, and say, “When will it be?” Say, “Perhaps it will be soon.
52. On the Day when He calls you, you will respond with His praise, and you will realize that you stayed only a little.

The commentary is long winded this morning.

The idol-worshippers were sunk deep in vices and immorality, while access to the Divine Being — a way to the Lord of the Throne — which they claimed they got through their idols, should have purified their lives. “We serve them only,” said the idolaters, “that they may bring us nearer to Allåh”. But nearness to God, Who is the source of purity, was meaningless in the case of those who led impure lives. Or, the meaning is that, if they had access to God, Who holds all power in His hands, they should have certainly received Divine help and been successful in uprooting Islåm.
The whole universe is here mentioned as declaring the glory of Allåh. Tasb߃ is synonymous with tanzßh, and means the declaring God to be free from every imperfection and impurity, or from everything derogatory to His dignity. This declaration need not be with the tongue and in words: in fact, the very dependence of the whole creation on the Creator and its consequent imperfection is a glorification of the Creator.
This hidden barrier is nothing but that erected by their own aversion, as plainly indicated in v. 41. Allåh, according to that verse, sends the Qur’ån to remind them, but because of their aversion to it a barrier is imposed between them and it.
The placing of the coverings on the hearts and deafness in the ears of the disbelievers is no doubt attributed to Allåh as the prime cause of all things, but how this covering or heaviness is directly brought about is plainly indicated in the latter part of the verse. It is because they do not even listen to the mention of Allåh, and flee in aversion from His word, that there follows a deafness in their ears and a covering on their hearts. Allåh brings it about, but He brings it about on account of the condition of their very hearts and ears. This is made very clear in 7:179: “They have hearts wherewith they understand not, and they have eyes wherewith they see not, and they have ears wherewith they hear not.”
The Arabs denied a life after death, giving as an argument that they would be reduced to decayed particles, and that hence there was no possibility of their being raised to life again. They are told that a life after death must follow even if they could change themselves into stones. And the spiritual life with which they were quickened by the Holy Prophet, notwithstanding their hard-heartedness — “they were like rocks, rather worse in hardness” — afforded a clear proof of the fulfilment of the statement made here.
The shaking of the head is to indicate one’s disbelief in a thing. The answer, maybe it has drawn nigh, refers to the spiritual resuscitation of Arabia, which was now to be accomplished through the Holy Prophet, as an indication of the greater Resurrection. The next verse makes it clear: Then will you obey Him, giving Him praise. Fifteen years after this the whole of Arabia resounded with Divine praises.

So... now the reason they didn't believe in Life after Death..... is there would be no body to be in Heaven or Hell with.

Oh Reasoning.....

The unbelievers pointed out that the body decays in the grave.... and while everyone is waiting for the big event.... the bodies will go away.

Christians believe that Jesus is coming back with Legions of Angels at His command.... and that will be the era when we all get pulled out of our graves and off of our beds or out of our chairs or cars or wherever we are we will be pulled to Judgement.... where there will be a nudge to Heaven or a heave to Hell.

Arabs.... couldn't buy that because the body decays and what good is opening a grave when the body is no longer there?

These verses say.... it the condition of the heart not the body that allows a human to go one place or the other. The body could be made of the lead.... but if God wants it to rise.... it'll rise. Likewise.... those who do not believe can be light as a feather.... but they are doomed to Hades.... period.

So this says.... we won't need a body where we are going.

There is a barrier. I always thought there was a barrier. Some humans are gullible.... like me.... and those of us who trust the wrong people sometimes..... are protected by God.... there is a barrier... invisible... that sets us apart. That way... when a preacher gets up in the pulpit and says... "I hate you I hate you I hate you".... we can hear him and avoid him.... so he can't shift our hearts.

It doesn't matter what type of body you have when you are called to Judgement.... God created the body you are wearing.... so He has another one that is appropriate for Heaven ready..... or He can change the one you have for perfect use in Heaven.... Heck.... in Heaven... there won't be an weight scales.... because it's Heaven..... right?

So.... the state of this earthly body won't mean a thing when Judgement comes.

We'll all have heavenly bodies!
