Quran 25:21. Those who do not expect to meet Us say, “If only the angels were sent down to us, or we could see our Lord.” They have grown arrogant within themselves, and have become excessively defiant.
22. On the Day when they see the angels—there will be no good news for sinners on that Day; and they will say, “A protective refuge.”
23. We will proceed to the works they did, and will turn them into scattered dust.
24. The companions of Paradise on that Day will be better lodged, and more fairly accommodated.
25. The Day when the sky is cleft with clouds, and the angels are sent down in streams.
26. On that Day, true sovereignty will belong to the Merciful, and it will be a difficult Day for the disbelievers.
27. On that Day, the wrongdoer will bite his hands, and say, “If only I had followed the way with the Messenger.
28. Oh, woe to me; I wish I never took so-and-so for a friend.
29. He led me away from the Message after it had come to me; for Satan has always been a betrayer of man.”
30. And the Messenger will say, “My Lord, my people have abandoned this Quran.”
31. Likewise, to every prophet We assign enemies from among the wicked. But your Lord suffices as a Guide and Savior.
32. Those who disbelieve say, “Why was the Quran not revealed to him at once?” Thus in order to strengthen your heart thereby, and We revealed it in stages.
33. Whatever argument they come to you with, We provide you with the truth, and a better exposition.
34. Those who are herded into Hell on their faces—those are in a worse position, and further astray from the way.

How about some commentary?!

The words √ijr-an ma√j∂r-an (“strong barrier”) may bear different interpretations according as they are taken to be spoken by the angels or by the guilty. In the former case, the meaning is that good news will be a forbidden thing to the guilty, which is equivalent to saying that they will be punished. In the latter case, the words are a kind of prayer for the coming of a barrier between them and their punishment.
This description of the day of Badr is also given in 8:11, where the falling of rain is clearly mentioned, and on the same occasion is also mentioned the coming of the angels. The next verse shows that it will be a day of victory for the Muslims, the believers in the Beneficent, and a hard day for the disbelievers. In fact, the distress and hardship the Quraish experienced in the battle of Badr were not tasted by them in any of their subsequent encounters with the Muslims.
Commentators have here mentioned the names of some people who fought with the Prophet at Badr. But the statement is general and the evildoer often regrets the evil he did, when he suffers the consequences of the evil done.
Rattala means he put together and arranged well the component parts of the speech. The Qur’ån was revealed piecemeal so that, under the varying circumstances through which the Prophet passed, the Divine revelation might be a source of strength to his heart; and then, as it were, to refute any suggestion that the revelation might remain a disorderly collection of fragments revealed under different circumstances, having no connection with each other, it is added that the entire arrangement was also Divinely accomplished. The arrangement of the Qur’ån, according to this verse, was a part of the Divine scheme, brought about in the lifetime of the Holy Prophet, who was the recipient of the Divine revelation.
Mathal (“question”) signifies a description, state, or case, and is metaphorically applied to a state or condition that is strange or wonderful, or it means √ujjat, i.e., an argument (T). The meaning is that they cannot bring any strange question or strange objection which has not been answered in the Holy Qur’ån with truth, and of which the best explanation is not given therein. The verse lays down the basis of an important principle, viz., that the Holy Qur’ån not only contains answers to all objections against it, but also adduces arguments of the truth of the assertions made. No other religious book of the world satisfies this requirement, which circumstance alone places the Qur’ån above all scriptures, and points to it as a unique revelation capable of satisfying the spiritual requirements of all men in all times.

OK...now it's a "my book is better than your book" argument.

To be honest though.... the Prophet was being questioned about the visions he had. In other words.... the Prophet was accused of "making it up as he went along".

Those who were mocking him.... they want it both ways. God is perfectly capable of downloading a complete book into the brain of a human if He so desires. On the other hand... according to the Muslim traditions.... He's not capable of planting His seed in the womb of a little human He created from a thought.

Here's an example of what I mean. I want God to give me the six numbers for the Lottery... in order.... and supply the ride to the store so I can buy them. In this story.... if the numbers are given to me in perfect order..... if I see them all at once.... then I should be given a ride to the nearest store... because I got them all at once... then that's Divine. But..... if God gives me the numbers over several hours....and fails to provide me with a ride..... then that's not God... that's my imagination.

That's why they accused the Prophet of making it all up.... He didn't just seclude himself for a few months and walk out with a complete manuscript written on a tablet.

I guess that's also the chief complaint about the Bible. It's a piecemeal compilation as well. There are books out there that "didn't make the cut" because the author was obscure or the message was a tad bit different. I don't see a book written by a woman..... I see a book written about women.... but not by the hand of a woman. Guess the #metoo movement might have a problem with the Bible because women were ignored.

But back to the verses..... Piecemeal or not.... if God gives me six numbers.... so I can play them on the Lottery.... I'm going to buy that ticket.

I was born to Christian parents.... so I learned the Bible from birth. My dad might have even read some of the Bible to me while I was still in the womb. My Faith is based on what is in the Bible.... and how it has been translated over the centuries. Muslims put their Faith in the Quran.... and how it has been translated over the centuries. The Jews.... their Faith is built on the Torah... and how it has been translated over the Centuries.

All three books.... all have one central character.... God. The supporting cast might be different.... but the Hero is always the same.... God.

The excuse used by the ignorant in this case is "how" God delivered the message. Today I am contacting a Process Server.... I've filed a case in Superior Court against the doctor that blinded me. I have to "serve" them in a particular fashion so they can't say "I didn't know she was suing me". In this particular case... "how" is important. Of course the "law" was written by humans as the "figured it out"... piecemeal.... in this case... "the law" is made up as humans get to it. That's what the Prophet was accused of because of "how" he got his message.
