Quran 26:105. The people of Noah disbelieved the messengers.
106. Their brother Noah said to them, “Do you not fear?
107. I am to you a faithful messenger.
108. So fear God, and obey me.
109. I ask of you no payment for this. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
110. So fear God, and obey me.”
111. They said, “Shall we believe in you, when it is the lowliest who follow you?”
112. He said, “What do I know about what they do?
113. Their account rests only with my Lord, if you have sense.
114. And I am not about to drive away the believers.
115. I am only a clear warner.”
116. They said, “If you do not refrain, O Noah, you will be stoned.”
117. He said, “My Lord, my people have denied me.
118. So judge between me and them decisively, and deliver me and the believers who are with me.
119. So We delivered him and those with him in the laden Ark.
120. Then We drowned the rest.
121. In that is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
122. Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
There is hardly any commentary.
Wherever Noah is mentioned, only such of his people are spoken of as having been drowned as rejected and persecuted him.
They say.... Noah and three of his sons along with their wives.... were the only humans to survive the flood. I've always wondered about that.
I've always wondered... was there one human who was just about to see the right side of life.... right before the flood? Did God go through every future?
As I was writing that... I remembered the people in the Twin Towers.... I wonder.... Did God go through every future?
When my cousin passed during surgery, my aunt was devastated.... but then the doctor told my aunt that my niece would have been totally paralyzed, had she survived.... my aunt understood that passing away is sometimes better than the alternative. Life in the days of Noah must have been pretty raunchy.
God hadn't given the people the Ten Commandments to help humans be civil to one another yet. Noah was way before Moses.
Have you ever had a dog that only ate, slept, and humped? They are worthless. Like a puppy that hasn't been trained.
Look at verse 111 again..... Noah was not well know or well liked. He was a human of lowly stature. He was never one to address a large crowd or run for office. Noah was an average Joe and his message.... well it was not well received.
I was watching the ladies walk their dogs yesterday. One of the ladies can't walk well enough to walk her dog... so she gets on her scooter and he runs on a long leash at her whim. She also can't get up to pick up the dog poop. She just ignores it..... and the other old ladies have to hunt it down and pick it up...because they could loose the use of the dog park area. She wants to be the program planner.... and she won't even pick up her own dog poop. That's the kind of people on earth when Noah was building a boat.
Check out verse 116.... if Noah didn't stop warning them.... they were going to stone him to death.
Yep it's the same Noah as in the Bible. The people are just as mean. Noah still has three sons and their wives who are still teachable.
So God considered Noah to be the pick of the litter.... his bank account had little to do with his future.
Everyone else.... drowned.
