Quran 26:123. Aad disbelieved the messengers.
124. When their brother Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?
125. I am to you a faithful messenger.
126. So fear God, and obey me.
127. I ask of you no payment for this. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
128. Do you build a monument on every height for vanity's sake?
129. And you set up fortresses, hoping to live forever?
130. And when you strike, you strike mercilessly?
131. So fear God, and obey me.
132. And reverence Him, who supplied you with everything you know.
133. He supplied you with livestock and children.
134. And gardens and springs.
135. I fear for you the punishment of an awesome Day.”
136. They said, “It is the same for us, whether you lecture us, or do not lecture.
137. This is nothing but morals of the ancients.
138. And we will not be punished.”
139. So they denied him, and We destroyed them. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
140. Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
And here's the commentary.
The word åyat, literally a sign, is used here to indicate the lofty building that should acquire renown as a sign of greatness. These lofty buildings were, no doubt, used to terrorize others, as v. 130 shows that acts of cruelty and violence were committed by ‘Åd, while they considered themselves safe in their fortresses.
The word khuluq sometimes carries the same significance as the word ikhtilåq, i.e., a fabrication.
OK... this is really interesting.... turns out... the humans who were living in these lofty buildings were the Nephilim of the Bible. Back in Genesis 6:1-6 the Bible talks about the Nephilim.
Genesis 6:1When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with[a] humans forever, for they are mortal[b]; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”
4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.
5 The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. 6 The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.
The people they are talking about here.... the people who lived in Aad.... are the Giants... the Nephilim. The Bible says they were "the sons of God". Christians are still arguing over the identity of the Nephilim.... but one thing for sure... the people who have been unburied in Arabia.... were giants. So... the Bible and the Quran are on the same page again..... I mean they are both talking about the same history.
Like I said.... God could have multiple sons....He is, after all, God. He can do anything He wants. Perhaps the Nephilim are the prototype of a type of human. Perhaps His sons weren't good boys. He only sent one Begotten. I had a Sunday School Teacher tell me the Nephilim were Space Aliens.
Anyway.... as the story goes... the city where most of these Nephilim lived was destroyed by tornado.
Aad.... was an area inhabited by Giant size humans who were apparently cruel.... and they were wiped out after a Prophet named Hud [according to the Quran] warned them.
God took them out with a tornado.....
