Quran 36:51. The Trumpet will be blown, then behold, they will rush from the tombs to their Lord.
52. They will say, “Woe to us! Who resurrected us from our resting-place?” This is what the Most Gracious had promised, and the messengers have spoken the truth.”
53. It will be but a single scream; and behold, they will all be brought before Us.
54. On that Day, no soul will be wronged in the least, and you will be recompensed only for what you used to do.
55. The inhabitants of Paradise, on that Day, will be happily busy.
56. They and their spouses, in shades, reclining on couches.
57. They will have therein fruits. They will have whatever they call for.
58. Peace—a saying from a Most Merciful Lord.
59. But step aside today, you criminals.
60. Did I not covenant with you, O Children of Adam, that you shall not serve the devil? That he is your sworn enemy?
61. And that you shall serve Me? This is a straight path.
62. He has misled a great multitude of you. Did you not understand?
63. This is Hellfire, which you were promised.
64. Roast in it today, because you persistently disbelieved.
65. On this Day, We will seal their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify to everything they had done.
66. If We will, We can blind their eyes as they rush towards the path—but how will they see?
67. And if We will, We can cripple them in their place; so they can neither move forward, nor go back.
Here's this morning's commentary. The grave is called a sleeping-place even for the disbelievers, because, as compared with the severer punishment of hell, the grave would be to them a sleeping-place. It should be noted that the grave signifies the condition after life is ended in this world.
Here we have another picture of the Muslim paradise. After describing the various blessings, it sums them up in a single word, peace.
It is a punishment for the reprobate. They shut their eyes to the truth with such persistence that their eyes become blind; they no longer see, even if they would.
Maskh indicates changing from a good to a bad state. Thus masakha-h∂ signifies he transformed him into a more foul or more ugly shape; and masakha al-nåqata means he rendered the she-camel lean and wounded her back by fatigue and use. Hence the meaning of transforming them in their place is taking away their power and rendering them weak and turning them into an evil plight.
Boy to I feel convicted this morning. I'm sitting here half blind and the author is saying "they shut their eyes to the truth with such persistence that their eyes become blind". Oh brother....The grave.... this book says it's the sleeping place of the disbelievers. There's that question again.... what's the difference between a disbeliever and a misbeliever? Does the disbeliever sleep while the misbeliever gets a clarification or something? One got the truth and decided to go rogue.... while the other didn't get the information, or was lied to, and did what he was told. How is God going to deal with him or her? I hope graciously.
Someone once said.... "God can't possibly see and hear every single thing." Well... He is God. He can stop time and make it back up.... He did it in the Old Testament. So God can do anything He wants. He's God.
It's the same God.... He wants us to hear the same message..... He knows everything.... the past, the present, and the future.... He controls time and when You and I get to Judgement.... He's going to unwind that clock and show it all to us.... so we'll know how fair He is.
These verses are called "Reward and Punishment" in the book I use for the commentary.
If you act like a little satan..... you will get to spend eternity locked up with him in Hades.
I you love the Lord.... and put Him first in you life.... you will enjoy Peace!
Reward and Punishment.... will come.
