Quran 37:19. It will be a single nudge, and they will be staring.
20. They will say, “Woe to us. This is the Day of Judgment.”
21. “This is the Day of Separation which you used to deny.
22. Gather those who did wrong, and their mates, and what they used to worship.
23. Besides God, and lead them to the way to Hell.
24. And stop them. They are to be questioned.”
25. What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another?
26. In fact, on that Day, they will be submissive.
27. They will come to one another, questioning one another.
28. They will say, “You used to come at us from the right.”
29. They will say, “You yourselves were not believers.
30. We had no authority over you. You yourselves were rebellious people.
31. The Word of our Lord has been realized against us. We are tasting it.
32. We seduced you. We were seducers.”
33. On that Day, they will share in the punishment.
34. Thus We deal with the sinners.
35. When it was said to them, “There is no god except God,” they grew arrogant.
36. And said, “Are we to abandon our gods for a mad poet?”
37. In fact, he came with the truth, and he confirmed the messengers.
38. Most assuredly, you will taste the painful punishment.
39. And you will be repaid only for what you used to do.
Here's the commentary.Though the description of the helplessness of the iniquitous given in this and the following verses applies to life after death, it equally describes their condition in this life.
The early revelation of this chapter is universally admitted, and here, too, we have a clear statement that the Prophet came in fulfilment of earlier prophecy.
So.... in the end.... everyone will know. Can't you just see the guy who was sitting in the pew right next to you.... the one who went to church every Sunday.... paying his pew fee as required.... saying all the right words... singing all the right verses.... saying "amen" in all the right pauses..... but.... in his pocket... right there in church.... as he sits in his pew.... there's a little idol he's "hiding" from everyone?
Can't you just see that same guy when the news is on.... spewing all the required rhetorical words at all the proper political stances..... and yelling about saving lives and heck no to spending another dime on this project or the next.... because it puts too much strain on this party or the other?
Can't you just see that same guy when he realizes this is Judgement.... and he's been backing the wrong horse all along?
Can't you see the dismay on his face when he realizes God really is real, that pew was only a place to sit and look good... but the heart is where Salvation really resides?
Can't you see the dismay on his face when he reaches in his pocket and pulls out that "shiny bauble" only to find it's nothing more than a stick that fell off of one of God's mighty oaks.... a bit of mulch.... and can't you see the tears in his eyes when he realizes it's just too frickin' late to change teams?
Yep... One God.... Same God.... and even the Quran talks about "End Times Stuff"
