Quran 39:64. Say, “Is it other than God you instruct me to worship, you ignorant ones?”
65. It was revealed to you, and to those before you, that if you idolize, your works will be in vain, and you will be of the losers.
66. Rather, worship God, and be of the appreciative.
67. They have not esteemed God as He ought to be esteemed. The entire earth will be in His grip on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right. Immaculate is He, and Transcendent He is beyond the associations they make.
68. And the Trumpet will be sounded, whereupon everyone in the heavens and the earth will be stunned, except whomever God wills. Then it will be sounded another time, whereupon they will rise up, looking on.
69. And the earth will shine with the Light of its Lord; and the Book will be put in place; and the prophets and the witnesses will be brought in; and Judgment will be passed among them equitably, and they will not be wronged.
70. And every soul will be fully compensated for what it had done. He is well aware of what they do.
71. Those who disbelieved will be driven to Hell in throngs. Until, when they have reached it, and its gates are opened, its keepers will say to them, “Did not messengers from among you come to you, reciting to you the revelations of your Lord, and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?” They will say, “Yes, but the verdict of punishment is justified against the disbelievers.”
72. It will be said, “Enter the gates of Hell, to abide therein eternally.” How wretched is the destination of the arrogant.
73. And those who feared their Lord will be led to Paradise in throngs. Until, when they have reached it, and its gates are opened, its keepers will say to them, “Peace be upon you, you have been good, so enter it, to abide therein eternally.”
74. And they will say, “Praise be to God, who has fulfilled His promise to us, and made us inherit the land, enjoying Paradise as we please.” How excellent is the reward of the workers.
75. And you will see the angels hovering around the Throne, glorifying their Lord with praise. And it will be judged between them equitably, and it will be said, “Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds.”
Here's the commentary.
Here it is stated that the trumpet is blown twice. At the first blowing all swoon, and at the second blowing they all stand up, awaiting to receive the judgment. A general destruction is thus followed by a resurrection. In the case of the spiritual resurrection, the destruction signifies the destruction of the old order.
The beaming of the earth with the light of its Lord in the Resurrection is in reference to the clear manifestation of the consequences of the deeds which remain generally hidden in this life. The laying down of the Book refers to the passing of the judgment on the good and the evil according to their deserts. The prophets and the witnesses are brought up, these being the people who sow the seeds of virtue and turn men’s minds to God. Prophets were sent to every nation, and the followers of the Prophet Mu√ammad, who take the place of the previous prophets in turning men’s minds to God, are the witnesses spoken of here. A deeper reference to the spiritual resurrection is evident throughout.
Never was prophecy uttered in clearer terms, nor in more adverse circumstances. The day must come, we are here told, when the believers will praise God for making them inherit the land. Within fifteen years of this prophecy they were made masters of Arabia, and within another five they were made to inherit the Holy Land. Note, further, how the prophecies of triumph in this life are combined with the Resurrection in which the righteous are to receive the mighty spiritual blessings in full manifestation.
So it says the trumpet will be blown twice. The first time it will catch everybody by surprise. The second will cause every human to line up.
I was taught the Muslim way, the ignorance of Christ as the Son of God, is wrong. The reason, I am told, is because Salvation, according to the Muslims, is based on human interaction. What we do our whole lives is the basis for our Salvation or our demise.
The teacher who was teaching this... used this as her example. Suppose the line of good deeds required... is set at 100 good deeds in a lifetime. What happens if a human dies after only 99 good deeds.... does he go to hell? She said that's what's wrong with every single religion except Christianity. OK then... way to teach the Love of God. Way to put God in a box.
Suppose that's the kind of garbage a young man has heard all his life. Suppose he has been told that unless he brushes his teeth 3 times every day... he will go to Hades. Then the man dies mid afternoon and doesn't get his third brushing in.... does he go to Hades?
Idol worship is what these verses discuss. Lying, cheating, stealing, murder, and mayhem are horrible deeds.... but they can all be forgiven if you put down your lying, cheating, stealing, murderous and mayhem causing ways... and worship God.
Jesus brought Salvation by conquering death for us. He taught us how to worship God while He was working on getting to the Cross and the Tomb and the Fish Dinner afterward, and the Flight Home. He taught us God will forgive us.... if we will allow God to take over our lives.
The trumpet will blast twice..... worship God until the second blast.... and then you will get your just deserts.
It's going to happen anyway... might as well get on the Paradise Side.
Two Blasts of the Trumpet.... Just deserts..
