Quran 42:20. Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter, We increase for him his harvest; and whoever desires the harvest of this world, We give him thereof, and he has no share of the Hereafter.
21. Or is it that they have partners who litigate for them religious laws never authorized by God? Were it not for the conclusive decision, it would have been settled between them. The wicked will have a painful punishment.
22. You will see the unjust terrified of what they have earned, and it will befall them. As for those who believe and do good deeds, they will be in the Meadows of the Gardens; they will have whatever they please in the presence of their Lord; that is the supreme blessing.
23. That is the good news God gives to His servants who believe and do good deeds. Say, “I ask of you no wage for it, except affection among the near of kin.” Whoever does a good deed, We will increase its goodness for him. God is Forgiving and Appreciative.
24. Or do they say, “He forged a lie about God.” If God so willed, He could have sealed your heart. But God obliterates the false, and confirm the true by His Words. He knows what is in the hearts.
25. It is He who accepts the repentance of His worshipers, and remits the sins, and knows what you do.
26. And He answers those who believe and do good deeds, and He increases them of His grace. But the disbelievers will suffer a terrible punishment.
27. If God were to increase the provision to His servants, they would transgress on earth; but He sends down in precise measure whatever He wills. Surely, regarding His servants, He is Expert and Observant.
28. It is He who brings down the rain after they have despaired, and unfolds His mercy. He is the Guardian, the Praised.
29. And of His signs are the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the creatures He has spread throughout them; and He is Able to gather them at will.
Here's the commentary.
The word of judgment indicates a judgment already pronounced, that a respite will be given to the wrongdoers so that they may have an opportunity to reform themselves.
Commentators generally think that the love enjoined here in respect of relationship signifies loving the offspring (ål) of the Prophet, but there is nothing in the words which entitles us to place that limitation upon the words. The correct significance of the words is that I ask of you naught in return for it; what I ask you is to love your own relatives. The statement that the Prophet did not ask for any reward at all is made very often in the Holy Qur’ån, and the preacher of virtue never asks for any reward. What he asked them was to live in peace and harmony with each other. The Arabs, closely related as they were to each other, were in a state of constant warfare. They are told to give up mutual warfare and to love one another. A somewhat similar statement is made elsewhere: “I ask of you naught in return for it, except that he who will may take a way to his Lord”. In both cases what the Prophet wanted was not a reward for himself, but it was a good for the people themselves, being, in the second case, that they walk in the ways of God or lead godly lives and, in the first, that they love one another. Love of God and love of man are thus the two essentials of religion taught in these two verses. According to some, however, qurbå here carries the same significance as qurbat or nearness, and what it meant is to love the attainment of nearness to God.​
The sealing of the Prophet’s heart cannot imply its being sealed against the Truth — Truth was being revealed to him — but the making of it secure against the abuse of his opponents, for they abused the Prophet and called him an impostor. This significance is, moreover, in accordance with the context, for by blotting out the falsehood and confirming the Truth, the abuses would be stopped, and thus his heart would be made secure against them.


Look at verse 24. If God wanted to... He could control our minds and hearts.

He gave us free choice. A horse or a dog or a bird or even an ape.... cannot "decide" to follow.

Once a human is given the ability to "decide".... it would be rude to control the direction of the human's "decisions".

What good would it do if God changed every "decision" He didn't like?.... well then we would be like angels... acting only on His command.... or dogs obeying the owner.

God wanted someone to talk to. Yep... He talked to the angels.... and no doubt He talked to His creations....He created all language... even the chatter of birds is a language God understands. God wanted someone to talk back to Him. God is extremely intelligent.... He wants to have an intelligent conversation. He wanted to walk through the Garden with His humans... conversing about the meaning of creation... life... and love. It's for that reason He gave us free will.

God has given us a choice. Do you want to discuss the Universe with the God who came up with the original idea and then handcrafted it? Or do you want to spend you time talking to something He created.

God could give a drawer pull an opinion if He so desires.
