Hey everyone I'm going to start Rabbit Jumping in Southern Maryland.

Its really cool. It open to ANY RABBIT mixed or pure bred. The first thing is to teach your rabbit to walk on a leash and harness. Then it can jump a small course of jumps. We are going to discuss this at our next rabbit club meeting Home and we will start a monthly meeting just to pratice our rabbit jumping in addition to our regular meeting

if anyone wants to join contact debbie at crazyropes@verizon.net or (301)299-8971. And I also need help making little rabbit size jumps.

Our next rabbit club meetings is this sunday the 25th 4:00pm my house in La plata.

I bet they don't jump as high as jackrabbits when you hit 'em with a .22.

Thats awesome! Good luck with your club. Thats great that rabbits are getting into it. About time they got a part of the action. I've competed in the hamster race circuit since I was little. I have bred and raced quite a few state and even two national champions in my time. But I'm getting older and the arthritis is really making it hard to sew the racing silks for them so I'm slowly getting out of it and have stopped breeding my hamster line altogether. Don't listen to the nay-sayers here. Keep doing what you're passionate about :huggy:

I hope you're not just giving it up because of the arthritis and the racing silks. I am quite nimble with my fingers and could make their silks for them. Please don't give up so easily. You have really bred some strong contenders. :huggy:

Yeah, but you are forgetting to mention what happened to your hamsters when they didn't win... need I bring up the boa snake collection in your back room...:burning:

The sad part of this is that they sometimes fall and break a foreleg on a jump.
They have to be put down on the spot. At the end of the season they aution off the coat made from theses galant little bunnies.

I needed to rid the non winners from my breeding lines or they would've contaminated the winning gene. The shelters are so over run with hamsters now as it is from unresponsible hamster breeders, I would rather just put them out of their misery. It was the right thing to do.

Thats a very nice offer BS. But I'm just done with it all. There are so many back stabbers in that business. They'll be all nice to your face and pet your hamster but as soon as you turn around they're putting a flat spot in your hamster ball. I just can't take the stress anymore. But thanks :huggy:

I'm so sorry you have had a bad experience. When I was into hedgehog bowling, I experienced a lot of back stabbing, also. It's a shame that a few can ruin it for all. :huggy:

Hedgehog bowling? Sounds interesting. Do you use the hedgehog as the ball or the pins?

Silly girl. We use them as the ball. You teach them to roll into a ball and gently "bowl" them towards the pins, which are made of a light foamy material, so as to prevent injuries. The smaller of a "ball" you can get your hedgehog to roll into, the quicker it rolls, which is really the jist of the entire competition. It's about aiming, rolling quickly and knocking down the pins (we only use four pins), but the rolling (quickly and smoothly) actually carries the greatest point value overall. Sometimes the not so nice competitors would yell something during the "rolling," which, if the ear muffs are not tightly covering the hedgehog's ears, can cause a hedgehog to raise it's head, which totally screws up the roll. It kind of becomes what we, in the business refer to as a "R/T" (roll/thump), and, naturally, slows the hh down or completely stops it and, in some cases, can actually break the neck. :frown:

Wow..I had no idea! I don't like the idea of a HH getting hurt. Are there any rescues devoted to these animals? What's the penalty for causing a R/T? It should be harsh. All those people care about is winning. They don't care if they cause a HH to lose its life. :frown:
