That app could have come in quite handy when I've been on travel for work and even on vacation.

I know once on vacation, we were on our way to some highly recommended location to eat and the parking lot was full of glass from broken out lights and I said "no way". It would have been nice to know in advance and not even bothered driving that way.

"Ghetto" can be any race and any color and any sex and any religion. I'm so sick of the :bs: racism card being played all the time.

It made me think of National Lampoon's Vacation, when the Griswold's get lost in the Ghetto and need to ask for directions back to the highway.

Racism is about intent.

I say something like: Black people are more likely to be in jail than white people.

If my intent is just to note that reality, or perhaps to initiate a discussion about why that is or what might be done about it, then that isn't racist.

If my intent is to deride black people generally, or suggest that they are worse people by nature, or suggest that a particular person must be a criminal because they are black, or that I wouldn't trust any black person because they're all criminals, that's racist.

The same basic notion applies with all comments and actions that distinguish people (directly or indirectly) based on race. They may be racist or they may not, it's about intent. Some might not want to accept this, but the same is true when it comes to the use of the words ###### or *****. Sometimes they are used as terms of endearment (or for other non-racist reasons), sometimes they aren't. It's somewhat like using the word honey (though generally on a different level of intensity), its appropriateness depends on the context and the intent of its use. A guy might lovingly call his wife honey. He might also use that word in a misogynistic or condescending way when talking to a woman he doesn't know or like or is upset with at the moment.

Without thinking too hard, I can imagine less offensive ways to provide useful information. Most adults would be able to do the same. Just sayin'.

It would be nice if Garmin could do this based on crime rates, murder rates and carjackings... but wven if you go by the numbers, statistics, and probability al and jesse will be on their ass screaming racism... instead maybe they could focus fixing the neighborhoods so it would be safe to travel there.
