Radar Detectors and Honda Vehicles

What do Honda cars, specifically CR-Vs, have in them that cause my radar detector to bark? Getting quite annoying! Anyone else have this problem? Can newer detectors block these false signals from cars?

It's BSM, Blind Spot Managment, usses millimter wave radar. And it seems that Honda is the worst as far as encroaching on K band. Looks like the new Escort 360 doesa good job, and of course Valentine. I stopped running one years back, just keepit about 8-9 over unless I've got a rabbit out in front.

Thx for that info. I’ve been a radar detector owner for 30+ years. Mainly for those small town speed traps where the local LEO is a stickler for a 30 mile zone. But lately the beeping has become quite annoying. It took me awhile to figure it out but then kept noticing that the CR-V was the common denominator though now I am seeing it in other Honda models. Guess I will ask for a new detector for Christmas.

Or you could switch to the waze app.

I use Waze on longer trips but not as convenient as a radar detector that is always plugged in and watching. Besides Waze is a battery hog and in rural areas not as reliable. But the combination of Waze and a radar detector on a road trip is a 99.999% speeding ticket free journey.
