The "authentication form" is a link to some Korean website - it comes up when you hover over the email link, you don't even have to click it to see where it goes.

Somebody must fall for this crap, otherwise scammers wouldn't spend so much time and effort trying to bilk them.

But on other forums for a popular online game (World of Warcraft), sometimes people will post things like, "Hey can yall check my armory and tell me what I need to update?"

The link takes you to an exact replica of the log-in screen for the game. Of course, its not to the official site, its to some chinese-based website. I can't imagine how many people have lost their accounts for crap like that.

I'm sure lots of people fell victim to that crap when It first came out, but I think most people know to look at the actuall address now. I've gotten hit with a few of those from paypal

I'm one of those folks that forwards those things to spoof@institutions name.com whenever I get them.

You would seriously have to be living under a rock not to know that scam by now.
