Just heard an ad for Randy Guy's reelection. He's promising to save the Base in a BRAC environment. I wonder if Steny will help him.
Easy stunt....claim credit for something forgone anyway. "See?...the base remained open, just like I promised. You can thank me now".
Reminds me of this exchange:
Person: "So..what do you do for a living?"
Me: "I hunt and kill aliens from outer space"
Person: "Whaaat??...there are no aliens from outer space"
Me: "You're welcome"
The same that Steny and Crosby think they can do………What does a county commissioner think they can do regarding a base closure?
And no way more try an 10% of the folks will relocate to China lake.BRAC? Maybe an issue back when, maybe, but with what this base has now, no damn way is it in danger. Between JSF, Presidential Helo, NAVAIR program offices and engineering arms, weapons work, MQ-25, Triton?
No way in hell could China Lake take that work. Ridgecrest couldn't support the people.
And no way more try an 10% of the folks will relocate to China lake.
I've been to China lake, no boat ramps. And no way more try an 10% of the folks will relocate to China lake.
Trump wanted one for 2021, but I am pretty sure it wasn't included in the Defense Appropriations.I'm not aware of any Congressional reauthorization...?
One of my friends out there told me they are still recovering from the earthquake damage. And no way more try an 10% of the folks will relocate to China lake.
Let's not forget my dream location; Lakehurst, NJ.BRAC? Maybe an issue back when, maybe, but with what this base has now, no damn way is it in danger. Between JSF, Presidential Helo, NAVAIR program offices and engineering arms, weapons work, MQ-25, Triton?

You say that, but I have personally seen worse (Mare Island). One of the busiest shipyards in the US, only real sub-capable shipyard on the west coast (no Bremerton doesn't count)? Why not close it. Surely Pearl is completely secure and can easily respond within minutes to any and all threats on the west coast.BRAC? The RF spectrum out west is completely cluttered the way it is with China Lake, Edwards, Point Magu, Yuma etc. Can't fit 6 gallons of crap in a 5 gallon bucketYou say that, but I have personally seen worse (Mare Island).
