I just heard from a friend in Montgomery Co, who owns a service station that he got word that all gas in the Metropolitan area is being rationed when delivered to gas stations. Get ready for the long lines!

As far as gas rationing goes ,this will be a very short term event and if everyone does not panic and feel that they have to top off their tanks and purchase gas they way they would normally do there will not be long lines. I remember very well the gas lines of the 70's and once they went to odd even days and the panic died down, the lines disappeared. Even tho the amount of gas avail was the same. Fear does strange things to people

This is irresponsible rumor mongering. Give facts, not somebody told someone, who told me. Your ilk cause most of these problems.

That same rumor was floating around here yesterday, and it even got to the point where the rumor was that the mayor of Jacksonville was calling for rationing. The mayor finally had to come out on TV and state that it was all BS before the rumor died down. Of course by then plenty of morons were lining up at the stations to beat the rationing deadlines. What baffoons!

I heard it on the radio also. They are already doing it in Atlanta.

Well, I don't like giving credence to "rumors" either... but I talked to a local mechanic this morning who claims his friend (who hauls gas for local stations out of Baltimore) has been restricted to only 2 loads/week, as opposed to 5 - 7/week. If a station is already low and can't resupply they could be out by the end of the weekend.

Take it for what you will...

:yeahthat: I remember those dayum gas lines back in the 70's. They sucked, but it was all due to panic and the petrol companies wanting to raise the price and make more money (GREED).

You don't have believe me if don't want to. He sent me an email. He is a pipe major for a Police band in Wash DC of which I am a member. I gain nothing with starting rumors. If you believe everything here is a rumor why do you read? I am passing on some info from a reliable source, You don't know me from Adam. Why would you accuse me of rumor mongering?
