My six year old decided this evening that he wants a pet rat. :eyebrow: I told him I'd think about it, and he urged me to email his dad. "Just to see what side he's on. I'm the 'yes' side, you're on the 'no' side". :ohwell:

Rats are ok....we've been there, done that

They don't have a long life span(2-3 years) and are pretty easy to care for....word of caution, they may bite and the more they are handled the less likely they are to do it again

I think we probably travel too much to have a small pet like that. Plus their tails creep me out. :lol:

I use to have several rats. They are smart and very funny. They would make a great pet for your child. Just make sure you start with a baby rat so that rat knows your child from the start. I used to walk around with my rat Polly on my shoulder all the time. She loved it, and rats actually giggle when you tickle them. They are cool! :yay:

I had a pet rat, Winkey. He bit me, when I tried to share my Halloween candy with him. I still have the scar. :lmao:
