I've read TONS about it and just haven't started it. I think it's an excellent way to feed your dogs/cats. :yay:

My puppy likes fresh veggies and ice cubes. I feed her those as treats, but otherwise I get her the dog food from PPP that doesn't have all the wheat filler. She's got allergies.

Big dog eats anything so he gets his food in bulk, though I did switch him to a better brand less filler. As for raw food, he can catch his own, and the crunching on rabbits and such makes me ill, so I try to tame him down some with more domesticated treats and kibble.

I do make them their own doggy ice cream in the summer though from all natural ingredients. They both love it.

I understand wanting to feed your pet healthier food, but I don't personally think anything raw meat wise is good due to bacteria and such, so I would have a problem with that diet.

actually they dont have a problem with bacteria. thats not even a issue when feeding a raw diet. usually alot of people start on raw when their dogs have allergies or bad skin infections or nasty ears. and its much healthier for them. not to mention cleans their teeth.

I have 3 Boxers and 4 cats...not really cheaper for me. Right now I feed a high-quality kibble and mix w/veggies.

Cats are on grain-free kibble and canned.

Veggies and high quality kibble is all I can stomach. If you think it's best for your pets then good for you.

I did it several years back. My dog now, it's not an option. The only proteins I've found that she's not allergic to are fish and duck. I'd be broke if I tried to feed her raw. She gets high quality kibble and is supplemented with other nutricious stuff. :nomoney:

I've never personally fed raw. A few years ago we purchased a puppy that was fed a raw diet. Once we took posession of her, we put her on dry kibble, so I did not ever feed her a raw diet. It turns out that she contracted Neospora from the raw diet (according to my vet) & unfortunately only lived to be 2 years old. Since this whole situation happened, I stay away from raw. I do know people that feed it, but I'm not willing to take that chance again. I would suggest that you do as much research as possible & be sure about what you're getting in to. Good luck & I hope that everything works out well for you :)

Don't know much about raw but agree that I would want to find out everything I could about it beforehand.
My *high allergy* rescue dog chewed at herself continuously and had little hair on her behind and hind legs last year at this time. She is now on California Natural Lamb & Rice and is doing great. No benedryl, either!

Honestly if I could afford to my dog would eat a raw diet. Its FAR more healthier than even the most premium pet foods. It mimics exactly what they would eat in the wild, any form of kibble deviates from that. Currently I feed my dog Wellness brand which I am very happy with but as I said before, if I could afford it Bella would be eating raw!

Get some!
We fed a raw diet to our mastiffs. Our first was diabetic and the extra protein was great for her. She was diagnosed at 9 months and lived for 9 years getting insulin twice a day. She passed this winter. The doctors never thought she would go past five years. I still feed it to my male mastiff. He is six now. We give raw chicken and supplment with kibble. Its a lot of work, but the vet always says how nice their coat and teeth look. If you can do it its great, but time consuming and expensive too.
