Really terrible guitar players...wanna jam?

Greetings all....
I'm a middle-aged guy (45), who ploddingly plays guitar rather poorly- but really enjoys it nonetheless.

Just wondering if there are any other really lousy players who'd like to hang out every once in a while and jam.

I know there are plenty of great guitarists in SoMd that get together regularly... but frankly I'd be too embarrassed to even think about participating.

This would purely be for fun. Play some guitar, drink a beer/beverage of choice, tell some war stories, play some guitar, repeat as desired.

Myself- I'm primarily a fan of classic rock, but open to any kind of music. Have both acoustic and electric (just a small practice amp).
I live in La Plata, but can meet up pretty much anywhere in SoMD.

Again, I am pretty lousy. I can't read music, and probably don't play any songs the "correct" way (I adjust for what I can do). But I still dig playing anyway. So if anyone's interested in hanging out and sounding amateurish togther (the more the merrier!) drop me a note either here or at tiger3woods@yahoo.com.

peace,
john

I prefer Rock Band :ohwell: Set up the new drums last night for RB2. They are 10x's better then the original. So hooked on playing the drums I want my own "real" set to play on.

OK you can get back on topic again and good luck. :lmao:

Bad guitar players need a bad drummer!

Influences?

:larry:

BTW, 45 is NOT middle aged.

There's no effing way I make it to 90

Influences. Let's see, there's Newcastle, Corona, Rolling Rock, Yuengling, Captain Morgan.... oh wait...you probably mean musical influences!

In that case, I guess I'd say guys like Page, Hendrix, Young (both Neil and Angus), the guys from Spill Canvas, Clark Brothers (the three brothers from that "Next Great American Band" show), etc.

But it's hard to really say they are influences in the classic sense of the term, as I my playing doesn't resemble anything these guys do!

ok....45....upper middle-age maybe? geez...now I feel really old....

Here's the noise I make;

SoundClick artist: Gudenrokken - Rocky, riffy, distorted guitar-ee, interesting drum-ee, metal-ee, hoo-ee.

45 is not good. Not good at all. BARELY beats the alternative.

I would not be against hosting a get together. I have a place available (a bar in Hollywood) complete with a PA system, basic recording capability, a keyboard and small set of electronic drums, did I mention beer??? I'm an old (got a few years on both you and Larry) guitar player myself probably somewhere yourself and Larry (BTW great recordings Larry) I've got a few guitars I need to knock the dust off of and a couple of amps. Several years ago I hosted a weekly jam session but don't want to get into that again. An informal get together once in a while would be OK though. A Saturday afternoon would work out best for my schedule. Lets kick the idea around and if we can come up with a date, make it happen.

I'm a semi retired bass player. My fender hasn't seen a real stage, recording studio or jam session in many years. Years ago I made a living playing music but it got to a point were it just wasn't fun anymore. I really miss the old days of improv jams with friends. If this ever comes together I'm in.

I live in Hollywood also, and haven't played in years, so I'm sure I qualify as a really terrible guitar player. Sounds interesting.
