? .... I read probably 20 serious history books a year. Gwynne's was one of the best - and longest - I've read this year. That's all.

Just curious. It seems, unless I'm missing the point, you'd have said '...and one of the best....' as long is never bad.

Me thinks Larry must be a frustrated wanna be English teacher. Always pointing out misspellings and grammar problems.

No. I hated english. I just misread first post and sought clarification. Once I got it, I added why I didn't get it: long is never bad in history books to me. Look forward to reading this. I guess I should thank my English teachers after all?
