Recipes for Birthday Party

I am having a noon time party for my soon to be 5 year old. We will probably have 40 guests. Does anyone have any ideas for something I can make ahead of time to feed a crowd? We did burgers and hot dogs before, but it takes so much of the party time not to mention one parent away for an extended amount of time as well.

Is a soon male or female?

Make him a dirt cake of some sort. Google and Epicurious are your friends. :yay:

Good luck on your party!

I'm doing sandwich trays and chick filet nugget trays this year for my kids party. I'll probably do the sandwich trays myself since that's pretty easy and can be made ahead of time. Will do the typical veggie and fruit platters as well. I'm sure I'll have burgers and hot dogs as well, because I'm all about making too much food.

Hmm, I think lasagna, salad and bread would be good. Because it's one dish, you won't have to worry about sides, it's easy to make and serve plus it's not really much messier than a hotdog or a burger would be.

Good luck with whatever you decide on :howdy:

For the cake, we used the cupcake cakes. Looks whole, but then separates out into individual cup cakes. And, prescoop the ice cream into cupcake holders, put them on a tray, and keep them in the freezer. It is convenient to just plop on the kids plates with cupcakes.
