Recommendations for estate liquidation

We will soon be emptying out an elderly family member's house. We already have a plan for valuables, going to a specific auction house. Looking for an option for tools/household items without having a sale on the property. Any suggestions?

Personal experience: Called an estate liquidation company to take care of my dad's house in VA. By the time they tallied up all their fees and weighed it against the potential profits from sales, we would have owed the liquidation company $5000.

Better off with local sales and a yard sale, and donate the rest.

What is the area/location? What auction house are you using for the "valuables"? Curious why you don't want a sale on the property of the other stuff? There are some reputable and honest estate sale companies out there.

I may be interested in purchasing some items for resale Private sale, cash. This is a retirement hobby and I am not a hustler nor am I looking to get rich.

I also volunteer at a thrift store that ALL monies collected goes to the care of the animals if you want to donate to them. We can provide a tax receipt. We can make arrangements to pick up resellable merchandise in great condition (nothing large like furniture)
