LONGMONT, Colorado (AP) -- A man who said he bought a device that allowed him to change stop lights from red to green received a $50 ticket for suspicion of interfering with a traffic signal.

Infrared transmitter, just like most TV remotes, but a little more powerful and with a different set of codes that are transmitted. So there may not have been a bunch of laws broken.

Let's see your remote change a channel at 4,000 ft. Its sole purpose is to manipulate the law. There could be some very serious results by abruptly switching a light to red.
