Redskins cheerleaders forced to pose for topless photos in Costa Rica

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nf...n-uneasy-night-out/ar-AAwEnTH?ocid=spartandhp

When the Washington Redskins took their cheerleading squad to Costa Rica in 2013 for a calendar photo shoot, the first cause for concern among the cheerleaders came when Redskins officials collected their passports upon arrival at the resort, depriving them of their official identification.

For the photo shoot, at the adults-only Occidental Grand Papagayo resort on Culebra Bay, some of the cheerleaders said they were required to be topless, though the photographs used for the calendar would not show nudity. Others wore nothing but body paint.

Given the resort’s secluded setting, such revealing poses would not have been a concern for the women — except that the Redskins had invited spectators.
A contingent of sponsors and FedExField suite holders — all men — were granted up-close access to the photo shoots.

The passport issue is big, real big, in Costa Rica. All visitors are required to have their passport on their physical possession at all times, or face arrest. Essentially, the cheerleaders were held hostage by the team. They couldn't, really, just say no, and leave, after all.

They certainly could have. They could have refused to give up their passport.

This was amusing:

What bothered them was their team director’s demand that they go as sex symbols to please male sponsors, which they did not believe should be a part of their job.

Girl, that IS your job. You are a sex symbol to please male spectators and sponsors. Or perhaps you thought the skimpy costumes and sexually suggestive routines were meant to convey a wholesome image?

Next up: Playboy Playmates complain about being objectified by men....

Sounds like BS to me.

I'm pretty sure all professional cheerleaders sign a contract that says they will do personal appearances, which is what this club thing was. What a bull#### story.

They are eye candy, and this is not a BS story. It's everywhere today.

When told to pose topless, the word NO is quite effective.

They are paid PR people for the Redskins, not Playboy bunnies or porn actors. Swimsuit photos? Yes. Topless? No

I'm sure there is more to this story than any of us have seen so far. It'll eventually come out so we can all pass judgment based on the facts.

I guess that depends on their contracts .... from the articles I read the only 'complaint' was ;

Given the resort’s secluded setting, such revealing poses would not have been a concern for the women — except that the Redskins had invited spectators.
A contingent of sponsors and FedExField suite holders — all men — were granted up-close access to the photo shoots.

and some being asked to sit and dine with said sponsors and suite holders ....

:killingme

for some reason women are willing to 'whore' themselves out and pose topless / nude but only if access is restricted to the photographer and his / her staff ....
like the pictures are going to stay a secret .....

Let's be clear: women who pose topless and schmooze the sponsors aren't whores. They are paid professionals.

Now that that's out of the way, this IS the job of the NFL cheerleader. They don't hire fat ugly cheerleaders for a reason and these girls know it going in. I'm positive it's in their contract to make personal appearances, and it's probably also stipulated that they will pose for photo shoots in various forms of undress.

Nobody is "forcing" them to do anything. They can quit any time they like and there will be 100 girls lined up to take their place.

Also, none of them do it for the pay. The pay is fairly lousy. They do it for the prestige and the exposure to further their dance or modeling careers. Cheerleading is not their primary income, most of them have other jobs or are going to school. Anyone paying even a slight bit of attention knows this; professional cheerleaders are profiled frequently in magazines and on TV.

So #1, stop calling these girls whores. They are not whores or sluts or anything else.

#2, this story is bull#### and their complaints are invalid.

I was using the term figuratively not literally ......
but lets be clear ....
... they are being paid to run around in skimpy clothes doing suggestive routines

In today's world of 'feminism' and the rejection of objectifying women, I'm surprised cheerleaders still exist.

"Feminists" may want to gender-neutralize everyone, but women in general still want to be beautiful and admired. There will always be girls/women who want to be cheerleaders and models and dancers, and there will always be men (and women) who enjoy and appreciate their talents. The Left is going to have to actually make it illegal to be beautiful, and outlaw finding beautiful women attractive. I expect that to be the next step, since socializing humans into rejecting beauty doesn't seem to be working.

And "you're fired" will ring in their ears all the way home.

That is usually what happens when you refuse to perform the job for which you were hired.

 yeah, right.... and they would make bank in court when they sued for termination due to their refusal to pose topless. I could be wrong but I seriously doubt posing topless was listed as required when they signed on to be a Redskinette
