Bustem' Down
Give Peas a Chance
Ok, running Windows XP on a Dell Dimension 8400 and I have some registry errors. Opinions on a registry cleaning program, yes or no and what is a good one.
I normally do not trust programs to do registry cleaning. They are basing it off of what they think is wrong. I clean the registry myself, but I know not everyone feels comfortable doing this.
If you decide to do this make sure you have your important files backed up, or understand how to retrieve them in case windows will not boot normally.
I've used Wise Registry Cleaner with no apparent problems.
Opinion?
I'll have to try that one, I never have used it. If it did what you need it to do that is what matters.

Any clues on where the "junk" hangs-out? The directory structure of the registry can be involved...
I haven't any idea about that. I just happened to see an article in ZD-Net online, and they recommended it highly, so, I tried it. So far, so good.
Ive used C Cleaner in the past, and it has worked well; also allows you to back-up everything before removal so it can be restored should an issue occur.
Dell recommended Ccleaner to me in the past. I used it too. I have never had a problem with it.
I THOUGHT YOU WERE BANNED FROM THE FORUMS?
