Relocated From Florida to Maryland

I recently moved from Florida back to Maryland, taking a job within my company in Bethesda. While the warmer weather was nice, I did miss four distinct seasons, as well as not having to prepare for the latest hurricane. I also missed the DC area a lot. My family and I are still in the process of finding a house to buy, but we'll probably stick to Montgomery County. Southern Maryland is just too far a haul, and even Annapolis or Edgewater seem like they'd be an hour's drive under the most ideal conditions. Also, for sentimental reasons, I also looked at Prince Georges County, but we couldn't find any decent schools, as well as concerns over personal safety.

Anyway, I wanted to thank everyone that has visited my web site, as well as those that have replied to my posts on here in the past. You, and this web site, have been a big help to me in preparing for my move.

Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

Welcome back. I am a mortgage banker in Annapolis and work with quite a few realtors in the Bethesda area. If you need a referral for a terrific agent I can offer assistance.

Send me a pm if you are interested.

Thanks for the offer of help. We have a realtor, and, in fact, have a ratified offer on a nice home in Silver Spring.

This is true, been here 14 mos and I don't think I can move back to a bigger city. I actually have a co-worker who bought a house down here last month and her, hubby and son will move in this weekend. I have only been at the job since May 2005 and the drive is over an hour. Needless to say I am catching the "it's because of you" from the other co-workers. :lmao: But she came here on her own in October after I showed her video of my house and community. I stayed out of it once I knew they put a contract on it because people were beginning to discourage her and I didn't want to entice her based on the good of it all. She needed to hear the bad (the commute) and it needed to be her own decision. For the most part I don't think many have a problem with the commute until they reach the bottle necks of PGCty and DC. Once home each day it's all worth it to me.
