I remember it well. The plow came through and blocked my driveway almost 4' high. Fortunately the two boys across the street came over and scooped it for me.

My son and the neighbor kid took the lid off of my fishing cooler to make snow blocks for an igloo.

I never got leaf management that year, so there was quite a mess when it all finally melted in the spring.

If I may ...

I believe 1977, (or thereabouts), was far better, or worse, depending on one's perspective.
That was the year my dad walked to work.

Because, you know, neither rain, nor gloom of night, nor feet of snow.

This current batch of postal employees has no idea how easy they have it.

Was that the Presidents holiday weekend???
Yep.

96 had another good back to back set of storms that had 30" or better piled up at my Mothers house in Mechanicsville. I had to dig her driveway out by hand, 200' of it.

I went to my Grandfathers to check on him and bring him a few items he needed and when I got back to Mechanicsville to drop my mother off the plows had filled in the front of her driveway with three plus feet of snow and I couldn't get in. :bastages:

I remember 2010 as the year my old life ended. I had a major medical catastrophe starting on October 15th. And if I remember correctly, as of November 16 I was still in the hospital, or freshly discharged, and still wacked out of my brain on a cocktail of drugs that I remember both fondly and with horror. I don't remember anything clearly until around about February 2011. Just bits and pieces.

Was working overtime at NASA/Goddard and got snowed in there for 2 days, no one could get to work and our computers ran 24/7..Made a killing in OT. Think I got maybe 6 hours of sleep over the 2 days
