The fire "apparently" started at the back of the store in a covered space between the showroom and a warehouse crammed with furniture. Investigators have not discussed possible causes for the fire or whether they are considering a cigarette as a possible cause.

It was especially difficult this morning to drive to work past the many lines of rescue vehicles. Their memorial service is taking place today at the coliseum and over 30,000 people are expected.
