Dayum if you didn't make me remember an episode of Emergency where a woman stuck her big toe up the faucet in her bathtub and couldn't get it out. How in the world did she call 911? We didn't have cell phones or cordless back then.greyhound said:I remember an episode of "CHIPS" when a women walked into a jewelry robbed it and got away by pushing the button on her Pop Wheels and skated away.
The kid lives out here in the 7th. The priest at the church of my youth used to have a brown one. Our church youth group used it as a parade float for MD's 350th celebration in 84.aps45819 said:Ther's an orange one running around here too
And they stole that concept from Dick Van Dyke!Wenchy said:Dayum if you didn't make me remember an episode of Emergency where a woman stuck her big toe up the faucet in her bathtub and couldn't get it out. How in the world did she call 911? We didn't have cell phones or cordless back then.

CHIPS, Emergency (what was the cute dark haired guys name? Gage?), The love Boat, Love American Style, Fantasy Island, The 4 O'Clock Movie, Captain 20......

We didn't get many channels back then, but I remember my Daddy making me change the channels for him. It was the dial, and I remember the clunk, clunk as I changed the channels!greyhound said:I don't think we had 911 back then.......![]()

If you were in Solomons or Benedict...you only had to dial the last four # to call someone in town.virgovictoria said:And, we only used 7 digits for phone numbers!

And when the only area code in MD was 301!When did they change that over? It seems like yesterday, but it wasn't.virgovictoria said:And, we only used 7 digits for phone numbers!

We must have chatted for 5 minutes or so.Seems like it was the early 80's. I don't remember having to throw the 1 in until sometime later, either...Wenchy said:When did they change that over? It seems like yesterday, but it wasn't.
The first time I tried to call my mom in the 301 area code, I dialed 310. I had a nice conversation with a Canadian lady instead. That was when long-distance was expensive. We must have chatted for 5 minutes or so.

Everyone was so excited when it was announced that a McDonald's was going to be built. If only we all knew how much their service would suck (slooowwwww).![]()
I remember the excitement of holiday specials coming on TV and the time every year when they would show The Wizard of Oz, we would make popcorn on the stove (Jiffy Pop) not so special anymore now that you can put the DVD in anytime you wantAngel said:We didn't get many channels back then, but I remember my Daddy making me change the channels for him.
