For the longest time, I only have to use 5 digits for phone numbers where I grew up. Now you have to use 7 to call.

It was like that around here for the longest time for the 862 and 863 numbers. I thought it was bad when you had to dial 7 numbers - now you have to dial all 10.

I remember the excitement of holiday specials coming on TV and the time every year when they would show The Wizard of Oz, we would make popcorn on the stove (Jiffy Pop) not so special anymore now that you can put the DVD in anytime you want

My sister and I were talking about this a couple of weeks ago. The Wizard of Oz and The Nutcracker broadcasts were big events anticipated for weeks beforehand. And definitely the Jiffy Pop.

No need. Where I lived there was one station and it didn't even come in all that well. Plus tv was pretty boring compared to what there was to do outside.

I can't believe no one mentioned the old St. Mary's County Bookmobile....BIG green truck that would come around and park for an hour or so, let you get a book or 2 and move to another location...
