We had a bookmobile here in Charles County too. It was like a huge RV. I loved that thing. Forgot all about it until I read your post.Dupontster said:I can't believe no one mentioned the old St. Mary's County Bookmobile....BIG green truck that would come around and park for an hour or so, let you get a book or 2 and move to another location...

I remember that. I used to live just a little ways down the road from there when I was in elementary school.PrchJrkr said:How about St. Mary's first public library between the current one and McKay's in Hollywood?
Funny thing about the Bookmobile, coming to work this afternoon coming through Hughesville was a flatbed truck with a really old bookmobile on the back all rusted out looked to be about 30 years or older you could still read the writing on the sides although kind of faded out said Calvert County, had weeds growing up inside of it, could see them through the windows.Dupontster said:I can't believe no one mentioned the old St. Mary's County Bookmobile....BIG green truck that would come around and park for an hour or so, let you get a book or 2 and move to another location...

Poor VV, a year and a half later and still no answer.Did you all have the "Library Theater Books Alive Traveling Show" when you were in elementary school? Where a troop of performers would go around to schools and put on productions of various portions of top children's books, trying to encourage reading???
