Repairing paint chips

First chip on my car, someone really hit it with something hard/sharp. I have a small chunk of paint missing, bare metal is showing and has a scrape in the bare metal.

I'd like to do a bit more than just a cheap bottle of touch up paint. I remember seeing dr color chip a while back. Has anyone used it or anything similar?

People suck. It doesn't look like it went through to the metal too badly. Hopefully you can find a good match.

Someone purposely scratched my car after I bought it. I still haven't fixed it.

I've posted about my 'Snowflake' Ice Cream Shop bumper sticker and all the shopping cart dings I got from that. Never fixed any of those either.

I can understand that others take pride in their vehicles and especially a newer ride. You paid dearly to own a nice ride and some people just don't see it as such. I'd try to touch it up the best that I could. Lots of shops do small repairs for minimal charges. I know it sucks that people are so negligent or stupid that this stuff happens, but we live with idiots all around us.

I have a chip in my paint as well and I'm more concerned about rust than it being unsightly. The Dr. Colorchip looks interesting.

My truck has single stage paint on it, it was full of chips and scratches when I bought it, easy to fix up. This car has clear coat on it, a bit worried that it will be harder to fix right.

True. That’s why I try to park as far away from them as I can.

…. Then, of course, there will always be one, as Vrai calls them, cuddler.

Always amazed that folks do that, one of my cars I typically park far far away from anyone else but when I come out of the store/restaurant, I always find someone parked next to me, even when there is a spot 30 feet away that is far from anyone.
