Does a lender/company/etc. have to warn you before they report it negatively on your credit for non-payment? Is there some kind of rule about that? Do they have to send you letters if you're past due on your account?
Not paying something IS your warning.
What if they never sent you a bill or anything?
Saying you never received a bill is no excuse. If you bought something, pay for it. If you are going to be late or can't afford a one-time payment, make arrangements.
Did you know about the service(s) in question?Well, I was just asking. The company told me they've sent me letters (which I haven't received). Then she said she called my work (small company, she never called). I just didn't know if there was a standard procedure.

Well, it's medical bills. I know the hospital transferred it to this billing company, but then I never got anything from the billing company.
Honestly, I know I should have paid the bill...but I have alot of other bills, and slipped my mind. I'm not trying to get out of paying it, and I'm not blaming them for me being late. I'm just frustrated because this company sent it to a lawyer's office, and I never even got a warning letter. Then the beotch lied on the phone.
I've already set up automated payments with the lawyers office, but I'm jsut asking because i don't know if it went on my credit.
