Republican Glenn Youngkin Wins Governor’s Race In Virginia, Experts Project

Multiple election experts projected on Tuesday night that Republican Glenn Youngkin beat Democrat Terry McAuliffe in Virginia’s governor’s race in what many critics say is a backlash to far-left Democrat policies.

Dave Wasserman of the non-partisan Cook Political Report and Decision Desk HQ both have called the race for Youngkin, who is currently leading 51.1% to McAuliffe’s 48.2% with 95% reporting. Business Insider also called the race for Youngkin.

During the early morning hours on Wednesday, ABC News, NBC News, CNN, The Associated Press, The New York Times, and MSNBC called the race for Youngkin.

Gotta admit, this was a surprise. Really thought that Youngkin would put up a good race and lose graciously in a close contest.
As the evening wore on, I noticed the pattern we've become way too familiar with - the Democratic strongholds in the cities STILL had yet to put up their numbers, and my eyes rolled and thought "because they don't know how many votes they'll need to win, yet".

Yeah. I believe that. I just can't figure out how some precinct in rural or semi-rural Virginia can tally up their totals so fast - yet everywhere the Dems have more voters, it takes half the night. You'd think that big cities would know how to do it more "efficiently".

It's good that Youngkin won. I've detested McAuliffe since Clinton and his DNC days. He's exactly the kind of politician I dislike the most - the kind that says the most bombastic, ridiculous stuff to smear opponents. Like Hillary, his campaign was run on "I'm not Trump" and "Youngkin is just more Trump".

At one point, Youngkin was leading by close to a quarter million votes. Through the night, the pattern was the same - watch the lead slowly slip away as the the urban areas FINALLY release their totals. And it began to shrink. Currently it's at about 60k+, but there just aren't enough votes left to tip the scales.

I do think Murphy WILL pull it off in Jersey.

One last thing. I can't stand McAuliffe. I was surprised he ran for governor the FIRST time. He'd never been in elected office before. I am disappointed that virtually every urban area - besides Northern Virginia, which will always vote Democrat - they all went for McAuliffe. Virginia has an unusual rule regarding governors - you can't be re-elected as an incumbent, and only one man has done it, and he switched parties to do it.

I guess it bothers me that the cities STILL went big for the same guy two elections ago.

Hard to determine which is worse.

That they relentlessly cheat so often or that they think everyone is too stupid to notice.

remember the classic photo of Harry Truman holding a newspaper with headlines, "Dewey Beats Truman"?

Lets be optimistic, but have they counted the Honduran vote yet? The homeless contingent living under bridges?? Hey we arent allowed to count them in a Census because, you know, its unfair....but they can come in handy during a tight race....

I think we've just got to find a better way to deal with voter fraud. Right now it's not enough that you can look at stacks of shredded votes, sudden surges of votes for one guy, piles of ballots with a single vote for a single candidate on them, trunk loads of uncounted ballots, precincts with more votes than registered voters OR extremely large turnout in specific regions. You have to find a CULPRIT. You have to make a case against SOMEONE or SOME THING.

You can't stop it until you can find a way to PROVE it, and catching one or two people committing fraud won't change where it's done en masse deliberately.

I just have no idea how to do it. Republicans want to make voting more secure, and Democrats want to make voting more open. They're both admirable, but right now, Dems claim Republicans want to restrict voting, and Republicans claim Dems just want more ways to cheat. I understand the desire to want to allow access to voting easier. SOMEHOW, with anything from being blind to being confined to a wheelchair, no one I know has ever been unable to vote if they wanted to. But I get the expressed sentiment. Republicans as well - bear in mind, a fraudulent vote TAKES AWAY YOUR VOTE. More options to vote is like adding more doors to a building - it is a guarantee to be less secure.

I just don't know how to do it. It's like cheating in sports - you know it happens, but how do you catch it?

Does anyone have any notion that Nancy and the people she owns in the Congress will actually see that a majority of Americans have had enough of their destructive policies?

If you do let me set you straight. They will double down and work even harder to get their lame agenda passed before they are slaughtered in 2022.

Glenn Youngkin's Win Officially Ends the Clinton Era in American Politics

Only a small group of Clinton’s inner circle and cabinet succeeded in their bids for elected office.

Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich lost in the Massachusetts gubernatorial primary in 2002. Former Attorney General Janet Reno ran for governor of Florida in 2002 but lost in the primary. Former Health and Human Services Secretary Donna Shalala lost her congressional re-election race last year.

Former Energy Secretary Bill Richardson won two terms as governor of New Mexico, but withdrew from consideration to be Barack Obama’s commerce secretary due to corruption.

And you may recall a former Housing and Urban Development secretary named Andrew Cuomo.

Bill and Hillary are now afterthoughts in today’s party, which is run by Ron Klain, Bernie Sanders, and Pramila Jayapal.

Hillary’s career ended ignominiously, as perhaps the only candidate who could lose to Donald Trump in a general election. Bill’s philandering is frowned upon today more than ever in the #MeToo era.

Same. I remember him well from the 90s and he is an evil human being. Not just has bad ideas, he is a bad person.

I don't know jack about Glen Youngkin and don't really care about VA politics, I was just glad to see McAhole go down in flames. But it was neck and neck, which means half the voters in VA are evil dolts, and that is alarming.

That's because progressivism is a disease that spreads as they move to get away from the hell holes that they create.

McAuliffe Blames Loss On Low 3AM Ballot Turnout

“Yeah, our ground game was clearly to blame,” said McAuliffe to tearful reporters. “After studying the numbers, there is just no way to sugarcoat our failure to turn out the 3 a.m. ballots. Bottom line is, we simply came up short. The votes in the key 3 a.m. demographic just weren’t there.”

Had never seen a picture of him until last week(?) when Biden campaigned for him, it was a pic of Biden with McAuliffe over his shoulder, knew his rep from the 90s forward. He reminded me of Gavan O'Herlihy, who played Dan Suggs in the Lonesome Dove miniseries, and the personality of the character, IMO, definitely fit McAuliffe.
