Not looking good. A half dozen cops, fire trucks, and rescue boats headed for the bridge. Traffic backing up in Calvert.

I don't understand why some people end their lives so publicly. Why would they want to burden others with that memory for the rest of their lives? Granted, they weren't thinking about others but that has to be tough for anyone who witnessed that. I would imagine the water is cold enough that the body won't be found until the water warms up in a few months.

I believe it is because once a person gets to the point suicide is their best option, they are NOT thinking about anyone else at all. I assume the symbolism of taking that final leap and freefalling from this world as they know it is possibly the most peaceful way they can think to go.

My mom suffered from bouts of depression at one point in her life and she it calmed her to think she had that option... yes, jumping.

It's very sad when someone is so unhappy they want to die. Hard on the family, too. My mother shot herself. I was just a child, but remember the call from her telling me to be good. You go through so many different emotions about the why. I am over it now..thank goodness. Feel sorry for this family.

I would think a suicidal person also thinks about, they are worth more dead than alive.
Does life insurance pay out to the beneficiary, for people who commit suicide?

I'd be willing to bet some have paid out, but I don't think it's a common occurrence. I could be wrong as I don't have any personal experience
