Let's not get into a 'are you in favor of child healthcare' debate if you get my meaning. In other words, we're debating whether or not this is assualt, not whether or not we all have a right to not be.

Well if the allegation is true, there is no question it's an assault. I didn't even know that was part of this debate!

what really sucks about this situation and in many others is that there are no witnesses. it always seems to be a "he said, she said" situation, and now in most cases people think the woman is making it up just because there have been a few times where that was the case. this is probably why alot of women dont come forward about rape and assault because it can be twisted around to make her at fault or that she made it up.

smcop, what is the possible punishment for this guy if he is convicted?

The realistic punishment...if convicted most likely probation before judgment to probation. There is minimal chance he would ever go to jail. Now the maximum punishment is something I would have to look up. I am sure it is no more than 18 months.

He's asking if her story sounds plausible to you. Because it sounds like bull to me and apparently I'm not alone.

Lets just remove for a moment that this is a volunteer job. At any job, do you feel complaints like this should be handled by chain of command or criminally?

I cannot get past the fact she didn't complain through a chain of command.

Been there done that. It was swept under the rug three times. Three different reports by three different women.

What I am saying is that I have a tough time picturing an adult woman walking into the office, alone, with a stranger, him closing the door, him starting to grope her, restrain her, look down her blouse and lick her neck and not let her go all while she protests.

And he has done this numerous times. And no one has had him arrested. Bitten the crap out of him. Gouged his eyes. Groined him. And no one warned her. As I say, I have girls; I don't want males like this in positions of authority and responsibility. If that's what he does.

I also don't want my girls to just take it or think they've done something wrong.

I didn't read that. I have nothing more to say. This is a touchy matter for me.

If it's true that she was new, then it makes much more sense that she didn't know he was known for being a pervert. I know others have remarked that people talk, and she had to have known he's done it before (if he did it at all).

And of course she'd go into his office if he called her in there. He is the chief and she basically works for him. You wouldn't not go into your boss's office if he called you in there.

I will tell you right now that I've never been around a perv guy who didn't give me the creeps - even if he'd never been caught and everybody talked about what a nice guy he was. There's just something about them that sets off your radar.

I told the story earlier of my boss at the sub shop who grabbed me and got whacked for his pains, and he gave me the creeps big time. Was always kind of leering and weird. None of the female employees would go near him.

And I realize not all women have radar, or most of them do but they ignore it. But I don't believe this woman didn't get a vibe from him and this incident happened just completely out of the blue.

That happened to me at the ripe old age of 14. Total hell. I was even forced to take a polygraph w/o a parent present in the room. I thought I was doing the right thing by coming forward only to be treated like a criminal and have my entire HS talking about me behind my back. I never regret reporting it because otherwise I would not have recieved the necessary counseling afterwards. But I would not wish all that "attention" on my worst enemy.
