Resizing Pics

We take 100s and 100s of pictures when my son races...I have this website that hosts them and I put a lot on discs....This may sound like a dumb question but I really don't know...If I resize them all down to 480 x 640, will it hurt the quality...For example last weekend at Delaware wifey took 400+ pictures...I loaded them on a DVD with music for some of our racing friends...It takes forever and lots of space...If I resized them, would they still look OK on the DVD? Am I makin any sence at all?

I was wondering that too. I made a dvd with picture from our trip to Point Lookout and it came out bad. The pictures are to big and blurry. But when i print them out they are fine. I think it might be the program. I don't know. What is a good program to make dvds with pictures?
