Revelation 12:13 When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. 14 The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach. 15 Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent. 16 But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. 17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.
Check out Exodus 19:4
‘You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself."
So God is looking out for the woman.
We've seen the earth open up before. Check out Numbers 16:32-34. [This is one of my favorite parts of my Bible]
Numbers 16:31 As soon as he finished saying all this, the ground under them split apart 32 and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them and their households, and all those associated with Korah, together with their possessions. 33 They went down alive into the realm of the dead, with everything they owned; the earth closed over them, and they perished and were gone from the community. 34 At their cries, all the Israelites around them fled, shouting, “The earth is going to swallow us too!”
According to a commentary, the verb used for enraged in the original Greek is orgizo, which means to be furious. Don't you hate it when someone ignores you? Imagine Satan, the king of vanity, being thrown out of heaven and being kept from what he wants.... he would indeed be furious.
I really feel sorry for the 144,000. Satan will be furious and he'll focus on making those who are followers of the teaching of the 144,000 miserable.
