Revelation 12 The Temple of God!

Revelation 21:9 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. 11 It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. 12 It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. 13 There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. 14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15 The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls. 16 The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia[c] in length, and as wide and high as it is long. 17 The angel measured the wall using human measurement, and it was 144 cubits[d] thick.[e] 18 The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. 19 The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.[f] 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.

22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. 26 The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Revelation 21:16 That is, about 1,400 miles or about 2,200 kilometers
Revelation 21:17 That is, about 200 feet or about 65 meters
Revelation 21:17 Or high
Revelation 21:20 The precise identification of some of these precious stones is uncertain.

O I can hardly wait to see this!

Verse 27 always makes me think. "Nothing" impure will enter it. Powerful words. Of course Catholics point to purgation as to how purity is achieved. This verse, along with 2 Maccabees (for those whose Bibles contain this book) and others bolster this for us.

How do you HC think we achieve this pure state in order to enter? Interested in your thoughts.

By this time, onel0126, there has been a 1000 year reign of King of Kings Jesus. Satan, the Beast, and all who supported them are burning in the lake of fire. There is no temptation. We are back to as Adam and Eve started out before the original sin. Everything is new.

I think this is a description of the beautiful purity that God had always hoped for but knew would not come without everything from the garden until the demise of Satan. It's nothing we can do.... it's all God's handiwork. It's pure because it's heavenly.... we're pure because we are there. We've made it through all the tribulation caused by Satan. We're now basking in the beauty that is God's heavenly grace. That's how I see it anyway.

Does that answer your question?

In this human body, it's sometimes very difficult to handle temptation. I mean how good would a huge banana split be on a warm summer's night?

Jesus said He'd meet me and let me in. Ever since then I've spread the Word to the best of my ability. I'm not bragging by any means. There have been a lot of times when I was really ashamed of myself for doing things I knew I shouldn't do, but did them anyway. I feel Paul's pain some.

Jesus said that He'd meet me there and He'd let me in. I've said that to people before and they just argued with it and told me to go away. They didn't want to hear about it. They didn't want me to force it on them. Those.... those.... they are the people who I pray will see Heaven. I hope to see them there... really.... but some just won't make it.

I'll be happy just to sit at the bank by the translucent river that runs through Heaven.

Sadly, though, some people I know will not see Heaven. They will forever miss it and burn in hell..... there is no getting out.... no matter how much you pray.... some will never be there because they just wouldn't listen. There is nothing you can do about it.

I am sure that God is waiting for everyone everywhere to hear the Gospel. It's all over the internet. It's argued constantly. It's the basis of one of the wars going on in the world today. The Israelites are at war with Hamas. How much louder does the message have to be? People have just got to listen.

Mark 9:39-40

39 “Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, 40 for whoever is not against us is for us.

Those who are against Christ aren't going to Heaven.

If everyone is a Christian.... then everything will be purely Christian....

That's how I heard it.
