Revelation 14:14 I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one like a son of man with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. 15 Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, “Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” 16 So he who was seated on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.
17 Another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle. 18 Still another angel, who had charge of the fire, came from the altar and called in a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, “Take your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of grapes from the earth’s vine, because its grapes are ripe.” 19 The angel swung his sickle on the earth, gathered its grapes and threw them into the great winepress of God’s wrath. 20 They were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed out of the press, rising as high as the horses’ bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia.

First let me address the blood that will flow. There will be a lake of blood, apparently... because it will be as high as a horse's bridle for a distance of 1,600 stadia. According to the footnotes.... 1,600 stadia is about 180 miles. A horse's bridle is about 4' high... at least.... maybe even 5' high.... 5' deep and 180 MILES wide... full of blood.... call the red cross... that's a lot of blood.

Now.... the footnotes also say we should read Daniel 7:13.

Daniel 7:13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.
This is from the footnotes on Daniel 7:13.

The Aramaic phrase bar enash means human being. The phrase son of man is retained here because of its use in the New Testament as a title of Jesus, probably based largely on this verse.

Jesus is going to sort them out. Everyone will be hit with the sickle.... God will sort them out.

I see a really really bloody war ahead. There's really nothing metaphorical about a lake of blood.... or is there?

These verses describe a lake of Human Blood.
