Revelation 16:17-21 "It is done!"

Revelation 16:17 The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18 Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since mankind has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake. 19 The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath. 20 Every island fled away and the mountains could not be found. 21 From the sky huge hailstones, each weighing about a hundred pounds, fell on people. And they cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.
When I read "It is done!"... I immediately thought of Jesus on the Cross. So I googled it.... and Jesus didn't say "It is done!"..... according to the NIV.... Jesus said "It is finished."

Now, according to what I have been taught in Sunday School my whole life.... Jesus was crucified over 2000 years ago.... and "It is done!" and "it is finished!" mean the same thing right? Not necessarily.... right? There have been so many translations over the centuries. I also learned, however, that Scripture is Devine. God made sure we got the correct word for the correct circumstance.

In my opinion... A different word was used because it was a different meaning. When Jesus said "It is finished!", He was finishing the agony of dying so He could get on with finishing His Mission. He was finished being a human bound by earthly problems... He was finished dealing with ignorant humans who thought they were gods.

When God said "It is done!"..... It was done. God told those humans He would punish them.... and beating them with 100 pound hailstones after a earth-reshaping earthquake was punishment only God would be able to pull off. I can bring in a backhoe but there is no what I can flatten mountains and then toss around 100 pound ice cubes.

Can't you just see God on His throne... Jesus at His side.... plucking a hailstone off a dead arrogant mouthy disbeliever.... watching hailstone turn crystal clear in His fingers... and then plopping it in a humongous glass of tea? Can't you just see God turning to Jesus.... He might even put His arm around His Son... and say "Now... It is done!" cancelling all the work of translations once and for all?
