Revelation 21:6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
It's almost like He's saying "Who did they think they were messing with!?!"

God, who is “the beginning and the end” of all things, says, “It is done.” The great controversy is ended; the rebellion is over; the entire universe is once again in harmonious accord. “He will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.” Nahum 1:9.
Jesus invites every thirsty soul with these precious words of welcome, “If any man thirsts, let him come unto me, and drink.” John 7:37. “I will give unto him that is athirst…of the water of life freely,” vs. 6. He promises that the overcomers will “inherit all things,” but the wicked will “have their part in the lake” of “fire,” “which is the second death.”

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable… have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: Those who reject Jesus and make themselves apostate are specifically prohibited from entering the New Jerusalem.
Cowardly: Is cowardice enough to send a person to hell? “John is not speaking of natural timidity, but of that cowardice which in the last resort chooses self and safety before Christ.” (L. Morris) John Trapp spoke of these “Cowardly recreants, white-livered milk-sops, that pull in their horns for every pile of grass that toucheth them, that are afraid of every new step.”
Apparently the translation used by the commentators at enduringword has a different listing of sins.... I guess cataloging sins with the severity listed beside them is a human thing.... showing we're not so abominable is supposed to get us closer to the front of the line to enter heaven....
I like this list... I like that the authors are calling out the cowardly. I know what it's like to tell myself.... I can't quit drinking... what will my friends think? I have to take this pill, what if the pain comes back. I can handle it... it's just one time.... and how will hubby ever find out.... Yes I know it's wrong... but...
I know what it's like to be stuck in a place where "Jesus" is a cuss word... and I know what it's like to be afraid to speak out... yep really.... it's one thing to type it on a screen in the morning... and another to talk one on one with another human. It's scary....
What if you stand up for God.... stand up for what's right... say you're not going to do this anymore.... what if you take your kids, with the clothes on their backs and flee from a marriage that has decayed to abusive betrayal... and you're wrong.... what if you make a bold courageous step.... and your wrong... and you mess up the lives of each of your children.... It is scary.
Been there... bought that t-shirt.... If I am in the crowd when the One on the Throne says "It is done!" I bet I will be elated... I will jumping up and down and singing.... hallelujah.... !!!!
