Revelation 22:6 6 The angel said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.”
7 “Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.”
8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. 9 But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!”
10 Then he told me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, because the time is near. 11 Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.”
Why that sounds like "Live and Let Live"!I don't know if it's "Live and Let Live".... I'm still just an old woman with an online Bible and some online commentary.... and a lifetime of learning.
Everything points to God.... I can see how those who do not have God in their daily living..... have a harder time living a good life.
Those who do not have God in their daily living.... they don't have anything true to stand on. They have the word of other humans... like themselves generally.... unbelieves too.... and that's only as good as a rock being carried by a river current.
God is an anchor. He holds us to something.... where without God... humans are just doing it on their own.... without guidance.
Now.... John was overwhelmed... and an angel is not a human.... an angel is supernatural... so it makes sense that John would bow.... but the angel didn't let John worship him. Satan would have... but this angel didn't. So the story is true... Satan didn't taint it.
To God.... a day is 1,000 human years. Back when these words were put to paper [or papyrus or rock or tablet], back in the first century.... John was warned that God was sending Jesus.... and it wouldn't be long.
It's been approximately two days since God had the angel warn John that the time is near..... In two days God put the Universe together to His satisfaction..... and divided the earth into land and sea.
I have no doubt that God has been at work. Global warning and wars and rumors of wars and even pandemics just keep boiling up faster and faster. Remember God takes the seventh day off.... so think about it.... do you think it will take more than a minute for God to do away with what we define as normal life?
God sent an Angel.... one of to warn John.
