Revelation 5:6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits[a] of God sent out into all the earth. 7 He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. 8 And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:
“You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased for God
persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign(b) on the earth.”

I've heard the phrase..... "singing their praises". When someone does something spectacular, everyone sings their praises.
I've also learned [back in Daniel] that seven means perfect.... horns mean power.... and eyes mean wisdom....
I know that God loves music. When David returned with the Ark he did a lot of dancing and singing. So much so that it embarrassed his wife.
When I burn incense, the smell is just what I need.... it raises up and permeates the air....
I remember that John is just trying to describe something going on in Heaven. Words just can't describe what is in Heaven.
So this is what I see in these verses.... Jesus has conquered death. He still has the holes in his hands, feet, and side from the misery they put Him through on the cross. He's the returning hero.... the wounded veteran of the war on death. Now He has perfect power and wisdom. He alone knows what it's like to be a human. He alone knows what it's like to be put to death. Everyone is celebrating His return home to Heaven. They are singing and the sweet smell of victory over death is permeating all of Heaven. He is the only one who can open those seven seals. He earned it....
