Revelation 8:10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— 11 the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.
A third of the water was turned bitter.... poisoned. A great star..... blazing like a torch.... named Wormwood..... a meteorite? Many people died! A bomb? A meteorite? A rogue planet? What "out of this world" is this? It comes from the sky! Is it a metaphor?

I googled "wormwood" and it turns out that "wormwood" is a weed that can be very toxic. It causes convulsions.... It makes you throw up.... it's miserable on the digestive system.

Another site says that wormwood is useful getting rid of parasites. Now that's interesting.

Parasites such as pinworm, roundworm, and tapeworms can infect the intestines and cause digestive health problems. Treatments drawn from compounds in wormwood have been used to treat these infections.
However, most research on wormwood's use as an anti-parasitic is based on animal study results that can't be interpreted as having the same value in humans.
One such study in mice, published in the Journal of Helminthology, found that wormwood caused parasites to lose muscle function and die. The treatment was shown to work as well as some leading anti-parasitic drugs

Hey... and on top of that.... it doesn't have the same result on humans as it does on the rest of the animal kingdom.

Poison.... that's what does away with parasites.... is this something that will be used in warfare?

Is it a meteorite or a metaphor?
